A woman who has everything meets a man who can offer her nothing but trouble. They bring each other to a height of desire neither thought possible, but is it enough to overcome the differences that tear them apart?
Kate Champion, a forty-two-year-old, married mother of two, leads an enviable upper class life of luxury. Her comfortable path takes an unexpected detour after a chance encounter at a neighborhood playground.
Jaylee Inoa is a twenty-two-year-old, second generation New York Dominican with close ties to the Heights and the gangs that run them.
Her life of privilege is no match for the code of the streets he navigates with ease. When a crime of the heart leads to a crime in the flesh, how far will she go to redeem him? Can she risk all in her life that is golden for the love of her golden-eyed man?

Kate Champion has the life she's always dreamed of. Marriage, children, money, a nice house, she's even still very close to her childhood friend. So why can't she get those golden eyes out of her mind?

When Kate first sees Jaylee, a 22 year old Dominican from the bad side of town, she's instantly drawn to him. Is it the thrill of being caught? The fact that he makes her feel 20 years younger? The fact that her husband barely makes time for her, or touches her, anymore? She really isn't sure and doesn't really care!

Risking everything, Kate and Jaylee start to spend more and more time together. Even after being caught by her husband! Ultimatums are thrown, heartbreak, and long lonely nights begin. They fight attraction and lust for the sake of her marriage.

When Jaylee gets into trouble, Kate rushes to his side, never once thinking about the consequences she is bringing to her own life. Dragging her marriage through hell in the meantime. So, here's where I started yelling... WHAT THE HELL!

As we get further into the story we learn that her husband isn't all that innocent in this love triangle. Setting Jaylee up by the police, paying him off, landing him in jail. Is it to save his marriage or just to win in general?

Heights of Desire is full of submissive, erotica, definitely pushes woman's feminists. Watching Kate being forced to choose between loves, choose lives, and watching her husband push to destroy her. It was tough to rate, I found myself yelling at all of the characters at one point or another.

Being Mara's White debut novel I am blown away. She did a fantastic job showing not only the struggles of love/love triangles, but also the racial, judgmental world that unfortunately we all live in. Can love prevail? Mara has left us with a cliff hanger and I am dying to find out what happens next! Who will Kate choose???
