Review: (I received this book from the author for a honest review)
Wow. Where do I begin?
Remy and Brooke are two of my favorite characters. I fell in love with them in Real and I even fell further while reading Mine. Together they are my top 5 most loved couple of 2013. There are a few reasons why I enjoy these two so much.
First, they compliment each other perfectly. Normally, when I say this it is more the dominant finding his submissive. Remy and Brooke's relationship is not like that. They balance each other in a much more real sense. Each is the other rock. Neither will allow the other to fall. They draw their strength from one another.
Second, I don't think I can ever get enough of Remy. I said this when I wrote my Real review, but let me repeat the notion. As a woman of the 21st century I have been taught all my life that woman are strong. We are capable of great things. The tune "Anything you can do I can do better." rings in my head. Being a strong independent woman I should be truly appalled by Remy's behavior toward Brooke. I should be outraged that Brooke allows him to get away with it. Then why am I totally infatuated with him? Why am I slightly jealous of Brooke.
Remy is not a Dom. He is not overpowering or overbearing. Nor is he controlling or manipulative. Remy is more like an animal. His instincts rule his actions. As Brooke describes him he was built to mate. The author describes him best with her lion references. That is Remy. 100% large jungle cat ready to defend his mate at all cost. Damn Brooke is a lucky girl.
. Mine had me wringing my hands one moment and weepy the next. After reading the first book in this series I knew I was going to love this novel, but I never anticipated the path which this story would travel. I could have never predicted the level of raw emotion I would feel while reading the next step in Remy and Brooke's journey. What a powerful trip it was.
Mine has earned the right to be displayed proudly on my 'favorites' shelf. Remy and Brooke will hold a space in my heart for a long time to come.
If you haven't read Real I strongly suggest finding it today. Fall in love with Remy and Brooke and then follow them as the take their next step in Mine.
