BLOG TOUR: Real by: Katy Evans

Real
By: Katy Evans

Synopsis: An indie phenomenon and New York Times and USA TODAY bestseller, the first in a heartwrenching New Adult series about a beautiful young sports rehab specialist who can't fight her attraction to a dangerously sexy underground fighter.
A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents...

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

Review:  Before I can get into the details of why I love this book so much, I have one word that will sum it up, Remy.  Look up 'Alpha' in the Merriam-Webster dictionary and you will find "adjective: socially dominant especially in a group of animals <an alphamale>", I have the need to start a petition to change this definition to "blue-eyed, spiky haired, testosterone pumping God of a man, aka Remy"  Holy hell, he makes my insides clench and  its not even my skin he is touching or my hair he is smelling.  I have never wanted to me anyone as much as I want to be Brooke.

OK, so a little background info.  In a former life Brokke was an aspiring world class sprinter with dreams of going to the Olympics.  Saddly, sometimes our dreams don't match our reality.  Years after a career ending injury, Brooke has found her calling working in sports rehab.  It is not a glamorous as competing, but it is a healthy outlit.  With college behind her and no job prospects in sight she is in a small rut in her life, trying to stay positive and keep moving forward.  One evening her best friend, Mel, drags her along to an underground fight that will change her life forever.

Remy is a well known underground fighter with a shadowed past.  Women flock to his fights not so see him knock out his opponent, but just to get a glimpse of his perfection.  Broad and lean, Adonis himself would be jealous.  Like everyone, there is more than meets the eye.  Beneath the muscular exterior is a complex man, full of things soft and sweet mixed with a little cocky.

When Brooke catches Remy's eye from the crowd he has to know who she is, regardless of the consequences.  The attraction between them is so strong I felt a little dirty spying on them.  It  goes beyond a zing or a spark.  Instead it is down right animalistic and instictual.  It is pheromones and horomones.  They don't have just a connection.  No, they have marked each other.  As mates they will fight to the death to protect one another.  It was a powerful experience watching their story unfold.

I have read many books before and after Real.  I feel like I have come to understand the mindset of the alpha male.  Being a strong intelligent woman in the 21st centurt succuming to the likes of Remy goes against everything I have been taught.  But damn, Remy makes me want to throw away all those ideals and be tucked under his arm.  However, what I love about this author she doesn't make Brooke weak.  Even though Brooke feels the same draw to Remy she doesn't cave completely.  Brooke doesn't become his subordinante.  She may have been consumed by Remy's maleness but she doesn't lose her own idenity in the process.

Real is in the top 10 of my favorite books.  I recommend this book at anyone who asks.  If you haven't read it yet, get it TODAY!  I cannot wait for Mine to be released.  Remyember cannot come soon enough.

Happy reading!!
