"I fell in love with a girl last week. I didn't expect it, didn't even know what was happening to me until it was too late."

Naomi Knox is missing.
I don't even f*cking know whether she's dead or alive.
What I do know is that she's the air I need to breathe.
She's my redemption, an all consuming fire that burns in my blood.
And I'll do anything to find her. Anything. Even if it means the end for me.

& & &

Turner Campbell is searching.
But he has no f*cking clue what it is he's searching for.
There's darkness all around and enough secrets to choke.
There are angels, and there are devils. It's impossible to tell them apart.
Light needs to be shone on the truth, but there's no one left to hold the torch. The line between life and death is blurred, and the players are all thoroughly entrenched in the game. The question is: am I still one of them?

Review:  Get Bent is the second book in the Hard Rock Roots series.  C.M. Stunich knocks it out of the park again with the continuation of Turner and Naomi's story.

I don't care what anyone says, I love Turner.  In Real Ugly I developed a crush on him, with his cocky sleazy attitude and piercings.  My infatuation turned into full blown fangirl love this time around.  The author managed to take this jackass rocker and turn him into a swoon-worthy leading man, without turning him into a total wuss.  After confessing his love for Naomi in Real Ugly he his left mourning her loss and trying to figure out how to move forward.

"Music never dies, Dax.  It revives and it soothes the soul.  If you let this fall away you let Naomi down, but the music will live on.  The music will always live on."

The reader is left with a giant cliffhanger at the end of the previous novel.  What happened to Naomi?  Was she one of the victims found in the bus?  Will Turner spend the rest of his life grieving?  In order to make this as spoiler-free as possible, I will not go into the plot to much.  What I will say is almost all of the answers you seek will be found.

C.M. Stunich has an amazing style of writing and has quickly become one of my top 10 authors.  With the phrasing and descriptions throughout this novel are out of this world.  It is a style unlike any other.

"There's still excitement in the air, still that sweating, crying, breathing monster of rock nipping at our heels and drawing devilish grins, but the fear is coming quick, rising up over us and bathing the room in shadow."

"The Devil himself would cry if that girl stared at him the way she is staring at me."

I am patiently waiting for the third novel in the series.  Until then I will ease my withdrawals with a more C.M. Stunich novels.

Happy reading!!
