Synopsis: Jane Black has written the breakup album of the century, earning her a Grammy, a huge legion of new fans, and the pressure to repeat her success. Sure, the heartbreak from her husband’s unconventional abandonment might have been her inspiration, but it hasn’t done her any favors in the dating department. So when Matthew Harrigan, the toughest music journalist out there, asks for an interview, Jane agrees—as long as her personal life is completely off-limits.
Review: Far Too Tempring was absolutely brilliant. I feel in love with Jane and Matthew immediately. I have read several novels about Hollywood and the music scene, but this is the first novel that really brought me behind the scenes into the creative process, or in Jane's case lack thereof. The author brought each character to life with an amazing realness. I felt like I was sitting in the dimly light studio right next to Jane.
Jane Black has just won a Grammy for album of the year. Life should be great, right? Not so much. Winning the prestigious award adds a layer of pressure the indie artist has never experienced. Everyone is waiting for her next album. An album she has yet to being to write.
Matthew is a music critic for one of the largest music magazines in the country. He is smart, objective and critical. His followers listen to what he says and take his opinion to heart. When he heard Jane's latest album he thought it was brilliant. However, he is now interested in seeing what Jane does next and convinces Jane to allow him to do an article on her.
With the added pressure of Matthew tagging along and the world waiting to see if she capitalizes on her recent fame, can Jane produce another great album? Or has her muse disappeared? Find out for yourself in Far Too Tempting.
