She didn’t push me away or tell me no as I kissed her again with more urgency this time. She turned, and I kissed her cheek.

“I’m too weak when it comes to you,” she murmured as I traced the line of her jaw with my lips. “I should be stronger.”

My kisses moved to her temple and into her hairline. She was so beautiful, and I had her again. “You’re incredibly strong,” I murmured. “You held me off for three weeks when everything in me wanted to come here and take you back.”

I could feel her breathing pick up as I kissed her, and the tension below my waist grew tighter. My mouth returned to hers, and it opened quickly, tongues uniting, her fingers now threading in my hair.

Review:

          Let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed this book. It had just enough 'alpha male' and sweetness to it. I could not put it down and found myself staying up late to finish the same day!

 

          We start off by meeting Melissa, as she reached a low point in her life. She has found herself and her best friend, Elaine, on a much needed girls-only spa retreat. Little did she know she would find herself in the arms of a stranger the first night there.

 

          Derek Alexander is instantly drawn to Melissa, even though he knows he should stay away... After agreeing to continue to see each other for the remainder of the week, and that week only, Melissa finds herself beginning to have true feelings for him that she cannot deny. She knows she will ultimately regret agreeing to the "one-week stand".

 

          After returning home, she is devastated. The thought and images of Derek are the only thing she can grab ahold of, as her abusive and domineering, soon to be ex-husband refuses to let her go so easily... The plot thickens as the story unfolds, but I find myself unable to give anymore without giving too much away. So, I can only tell you that this is a Must Read! Such a sweet story!!

 

          I can definitely see a spin off of Elaine and Patrick's story and I would love to see where life brought them all next. This is one of my favorite single novel but I hope they're story is not quite done yet!

Excerpt:

I only had a moment to observe how very clean it was before he had me against the wall, pinned by his huge physique.

“You never came.” His voice was a low, husky whisper. “I waited all night.”

My hands rested on his chest, and heat flamed through me with every heartbeat. My eyes traveled up, up, up to his. They were darkened now, and I was certain he was thinking the same thing as me.

He remembered how fantastically our bodies came together two nights ago. I barely registered him reaching out to lock the door.

“I’m sorry,” was all I could say.

“When you walked in the restaurant tonight… god, you’re so beautiful.” He spoke against my skin as his lips pressed into my brow, his beard roughing my closed eyelids. “Are you feeling bad?”

“No,” I managed to say despite the heat surging through me as his lips moved to my temple. “I… didn’t think I could eat.”

“Good,” he said in a thick voice before covering my mouth with his. Mine opened quickly, drawing him in. Our tongues entwined before his lips moved to my jaw then down my neck.

“I thought about you all day.” His breath whispered across my skin, and I couldn’t stop a surge of desire low in my stomach. “Will you let me have you here?”

“Yes,” I barely spoke, and he dropped to his knees.

He gathered the thin fabric of my dress, shoving it up to my waist as he caught the side of my thong with his thumb.

He was lying back on the cushions in only his grey slacks. The button-down he wore was open, and I could see every line on his sculpted torso. That little smile was on his lips as he watched me approach. 

I ran my fingers along his stomach, gazing into his eyes that darkened as I touched him. His kiss, the same one he gave me beside the fire pit, was gentle but hungry.
