Synopsis
Shane Dekkar is an undefeated, gorgeous, and somewhat shy boxer from Compton California. In the ring, he's a beast, out of the ring, he's loving, caring, and intriguing. After the death of his grandfather, he moves to Austin and meets Kace by happenstance as she and her boyfriend are in an argument in public. He is drawn to her, and she to him. Her boyfriend drives away as she mouths the words "help me" through the window...
When they meet again two years later, Shane begins to believe in fate. But, as he prepares for a potential shot at a championship fight, he believes there's no time in his life or career or a woman.
Kace Meadows lives in Austin, Texas. Now 26, she has been in an abusive relationship since she was sixteen years old. As terrible as it is, she can’t seem to find a way to allow herself to end it. With her current boyfriend, she can’t seem to win. She finds hope in reading about her book boyfriends....and dreaming.
Until she meets Shane Dekkar, a boxer. Holy mother of perfection...
Shane fights his inner demons by using his fists. On the street or in the ring, Shane does what he does best, he wins at any cost. Unlike Kace, Shane can’t seem to lose.
Undefeated is an extremely romantic erotica novel about fighting. Fighting for what you believe in. Fighting for life. Fighting to live. And fighting to keep love once you find it.
Be prepared to be moved, touched, stand up and cheer, and cry your eyes out. This book will, without a doubt, knock you unconscious. This novel clearly defines the love that we all seem to want, yet can't find. This is not your typical boxing/fighter romance. This book will give you hope, make you feel, and cause you to wonder....wonder why you haven't met your Shane Dekkar.

Review
*I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
Undefeated is one I find myself having a hard time rating. The detail that Scott Hildreth put into this book is outstanding. Some scene's where just a little too graphic for my stomach and I found myself seriously cringing, but the majority of this story is heart warmer.
We are brought into the world of Kace Meadow, a young woman stuck in an abusive relationship, doesn't know how to get out, doesn't know if there is a way out.. Until her knight finally comes to save her from her nightmare.
Shane Dekkar, an undefeated boxer, has always been against abuse against woman, children, elder.. anyone who cannot defend themselves against the bigger, tougher opponent. When Kace steps into his life, he knows he has to try and save her.
This is absolutely not your typical boxer book and certainly not your typical romance. This is one that pulls at your heartstrings. Many parts of the book had me uneasy and then others had me falling in love with the characters. Tough one for me to rate personally but I will recommend it to you all, step into the world of Kace and Shane!

◇◆◇◇◆◇◇◆◇◇◆◇◇◆◇
Author Scott Hildreth's Inspiration for Writing Undefeated
My inspiration to write Undefeated, and the hope that it may inspire someone to get out of an abusive relationship, came from the events described below. The events below are true. The events in the book are not. The book is one hundred percent fiction.
One weekend, I had a girl get in touch with me that I had never met. She had received my telephone number from a friend of a friend. Frantic, she attempted to speak to me initially, but each time she tried, she was overcome with emotion.
This emotion filled silence continued for almost an hour, and then we then actually began to communicate, albeit slowly, and one-sided. I learned through the conversation (that lasted almost eight hours) that she was bound by her husband, and gang raped by his friends. This happened for a few days. Against, if I even need to state this, her will. She was in and out of consciousness for two days. Eventually, she was released. In shock and extremely poor health, she contacted me from a remote hotel room.
I struggled with this event, and how to handle it. I struggled with this more than I have struggled with almost anything in my life. Vengeance. At what point does one administer justice to someone that the courts will undoubtedly not punish properly? The punishment for this particular crime, regardless of what was imposed by the court, would not be sufficient for the crime committed.
I chose at the time to speak to another close female friend about the event, and get her opinion.
Although I could not speak to my friend about the person, the events, or the intimacies of the above mentioned conversation, we spoke for some time in general about God, about law and about the difference between what is right and what is wrong. I shared with her my thoughts of feeling a need to resolve this issue with the caller’s husband on my own. When the smoke cleared, I sat in a coffee shop and thought. I made a decision. “Put up again thy sword into his place; for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.” I decided, for once in my life, that it was not my responsibility to resolve this issue. I contacted the authorities, called in a few favors from some friends in law enforcement, and the issue was dealt with in a manner in accordance with law.
My female friend, as always, proved extremely useful in her ability to convey her understanding of the message of God in a manner that I could listen to and accept. I have always struggled with attempting to do what is right (in my mind), and hoped that it was what was right in God’s eyes. I do not know that these things always were in line with one another.
Until now.
And now, a year later, the person from the incident above?
She is well. As well as she can be, considering all things. She is fortunate.
I struggle - still today - with thoughts of vengeance.
My struggle brought me to this.
I hope you enjoy.

Excerpts

Shane If I am attempting it, and I do not succeed, you can believe that I gave it my best effort, regardless of the outcome. I choose to do very little, and be exceptional at what it is I decide to do. I would much rather be perceived as being great at a few things than be a failure at many. I have always been honest with myself and conscious of who I am, but that doesn’t always help me understand why I am the way I am. On the outside, I am always kind, polite, and considerate of others. On the inside, demons reside. I don’t know why or what fuels the demons inside of me, but I am very aware of their existence. My consciousness of their need, necessity, and deep desire to be fed is what has caused me to choose boxing as my main outlet. I keep the demons fed, and they allow me to live an otherwise peaceful life. Fulfilling their hunger allows my desire to live a tranquil life to be met. As long as I continue to fight, they’re fed. When they are fed, I am allowed. Allowed to live.

About the Author
sh Readers, I will never forget the first time I actually felt as if I had helped someone resolve an issue in their life. I was in middle school. It started then, and has continued throughout my entire life. I have always made myself available to talk to people and resolve (or attempt to resolve) issues that they struggle with. Having an exceptional ability to communicate has always been a gift of mine, and I have enjoyed doing so. Telling stories has always been second nature to me. Writing has been a passion of mine since I was a child. I have written poetry, romance, self-help, addiction, alcoholism, codependency, technical, and satire. There isn't a genre or a topic that I feel more comfortable with. I enjoy writing about whatever it is that I feel passionate about at the time. Being open-minded and often seeing abusive relationships unfold, I have always been passionate about abuse, or the prevention of it. My main focus has always been people that are incapable of helping themselves, primarily women, children, and the elderly. I have talked to hundreds of women that were in abusive relationships, and assisted many of them in removing themselves from these relationships. I try to focus in my writings to develop a story that makes people stop and think. To look at a subject or subjects from a different point of view. If I am able to get my point across, and make the subject entertaining to the reader, I feel that I have met my objective. I feel that I have tremendous depth as a person, and have had some great experiences in my life. To date, what life has offered me has been nothing short of spectacular. My opinions, point of views, and perspectives on matters are just that; an opinion. There isn't necessarily a right or wrong in what I write, but more of a belief. I always believe in what I am writing, and I further believe that the reader may benefit from viewing it from the written perspective. I hope that you enjoy reading what I have written as much as I enjoy writing it. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than knowing a reader enjoyed something I have written. Considering that, please take time to leave a book review if you have read something I have written.
Best Regards,
Scott Hildreth

Review: Down to You by Addison Kline

Holly Edgemont used to love celebrating Christmas, that is, until her whole world was turned upside down by an unexpected divorce from her college sweetheart Brant. This year, not only is she divorced, but the kids are going out of state with her ex Brant, leaving her utterly alone. Holly's party-girl friend Sloane tries to break her out of her frump by dragging her along to holiday parties where Holly meets cute and available Chris. But when Holly realizes that she still has feelings for Brant, she has a decision to make: Learn to trust her long time love who broke her heart, or move on for good.

Brant Edgemont is a divorced father of three, and hopelessly in love with his ex-wife, Holly. He made the biggest mistake of his life walking out two years ago. Despite his pleas to reconnect, Holly still resists him. Is it too late to rekindle their love? Or will Holly move on for good, leaving Brant himself heartbroken and alone?

Down To You is not just a romantic love story. It is a story of familial love, friendship, betrayal, redemption, and the magic that can happen at Christmas time when friends and family join together.

I had the honor of receiving this book as an ARC by the author.
Down to you was an extremely easy read, I finished it within a few short hours. It is such a sweet story about the struggles of marriage and divorce. How true love will overcome all.

Holly and Brant had a great marriage. Children, love, family and friends, who could ask for more. Three years ago, Brant was asked to travel for work. Reluctant to leave Holly, who was pregnant at the time, she finally convinced him to go, that she could handle it. Only, soon after Brant left, Holly suffered a miscarriage and severe hemorrhaging, resulting in emergency surgery.

The events that unfolded after the miscarriage was straining their perfect marriage, as anyone could image as much. Until one day Brant just didn’t come home… Scared, heartbroken, and alone, Holly was beyond upset when Brant walked through the door a week later asking to explain. Turning him away, she decided she could not trust him and made the decision to split.

We are then brought three year later, a few days before Christmas. Brant is still completely broken, wanting desperately to win Holly back. Unable to move on, he begins to secretly make plans with their friends to win her back.

Showing up on her door step, a nervous wreck, the night before Christmas Eve, was the best thing that could have ever happened between them. Through the rest of the book, Brant does everything in his power to show Holly, that his love is still there, stronger than ever. Proposing to her again, and planning their New Years Eve wedding was more than she could have ever dreamed possible.

Down to You was a great story about how sometimes Happy Endings can happen, and how love will prevail all. This was my first Alyson Kline story and I am I am thrilled to have been able to read it. I feel a sequel coming on… maybe?

Blog Tour: Ravage Me by Ryan Michele

RavageMe_TourBanner

After spending the last two years stuck behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit, Harlow ‘Princess’ Gavelson’s time inside has finally come to an end, and she’s ready for revenge. Unfortunately, being the daughter to the Vice President of the Ravage Motorcycle Club cuts into her plans, as orders must be followed. Trying to settle back into this life is proving difficult when the tables are turned and the woman who framed her is out for blood. Lucky for Princess, growing up in a MC has taught her how to hold her own.
After spending years in hell overseas, Donavon ‘Cruz’ came home to lose the very thing he went into hell for, sending him to the darkest moments of his life. Joining Ravage two years ago was his safe haven, and he protects his family at all costs.
When a dark-haired bombshell struts into the club’s shop, he’s caught off guard but immediately knows she’s the one he’d do anything for. Tough as nails, and taking no crap from anyone, he’s captivated by a woman who could handle this life. Trying to meet the needs of the MC business and follow his heart proves to be difficult when the two collide, and lives are at stake.
Can these two find a way to be together, or will the needs of Ravage cost them everything, including their lives?
*Contains mature content including, sex and violence. Mature audiences only.*

I absolutely loved reading this one! This is my first MC book and I was pleasantly surprised in finding how much I loved it. Cannot wait for book 2 to be released!

Harlow, AKA Princess, is the daughter to a badged MC member. Growing up around the ‘brothers’ her life was never flowers and sunshine… and she wouldn’t want it any other way!

We quickly learn that Princess has spent the last two years in prison after being set up for a crime she did not commit. After being released and return ‘home’ to the compound housing the only family she has ever know, the Ravage MC’s.

Some things have changed in the compound, and others have not. One thing in particular is a new member, Cruz. There is something about him that no matter how much she denies, she is drawn to him.

As the story progresses we find that the grudge of one person is not over, they want Princess to pay, and will do everything in their power to send her back to prison! The twists and turns, the emotion in this story had me on the edge of my seat several times.

Harlow is certainly not your typical idea Princess. She could probably beat most huge men in the MC and still walk about to fight again. She would do anything to protect her family, and will stop at nothing to stop the person out to get her.

As I said earlier, this was not at all what I was expecting when I started to read this one. I honestly don’t know what I expected, but this one was amazing. No weak heroin in this one! Cruz is dominating and has this power radiating off of him while Princess will take down anyone that ever stands in her way, or threatens her family. Do no mess with the Ravage MC’s!

Love, Love, Love and cannot wait to see Ryan Michele comes up with next!!!

“Sugar, you just stirred up a shit storm.” The southern drawl to his voice mixed with the smell of leather, cigarettes, and radiating testosterone would have made my pussy clench, but he ruined that by pressing a damn gun to my head.
“Low, don’t.” I ignored Casey just as I always did. Quickly, I turned my body. As my arm reached back to knock the gun out of his hand, I instantly froze. The three patch rag falling on his chest was a red light flashing in my eyes. Immediately, I stopped, putting my hands in front of me. I would never touch a brother, outside of the ring that is.
The man standing in front of me caught my breath and short-circuited my senses. His broad shoulders were covered with a skin-tight, black t-shirt and leather rag adorned with several patches that fit him like a glove. His bulging arms were covered in tattoos from the wrist up. They were flexed, one pointed the gun with precision, and the other was fisted at his side. His light caramel hair was cut short on the sides, but longer on the top, begging for a woman’s fingers to run through it. His beard was cut very short to his skin making my mouth water, wondering what it would feel like between my thighs. His sapphire eyes narrowed at me as I stared effortlessly in them, becoming entranced unable to speak.
“What the fuck is going on here?” Breaking from this man’s stare, I focused on the familiar voice I’ve missed for too long. Pops eyes swept the room quickly, and when his eyes landed on mine, the anger in them instantly faded. “What the hell’s going on?” He eyed the man with the gun pointed directly at my head and he clenched his hands into fists.
“Hey, Pops,” I said, turning my eyes back to the beautiful specimen in front of me, wanting him to know that I wasn’t afraid. If I needed a bullet in my head, so be it. I wouldn’t shy away.
“You know this bitch?” the hot asshole in front of me clipped, and my lip curled slowly. If he wasn’t wearing that rag, I’d show him how much of a bitch I could be.
“Put the damn gun down, Cruz,” Pops said jokingly. The anger dripping off this man’s face in front of me told me he didn’t see anything funny about this. He began to take a step closer. “Cruz. Stop!” Pops barked loudly as the other guys started walking up behind him. Cruz instantly stopped, but kept the gun on me. “Cruz, this is my daughter, Princess.”
“Shit. Are you fucking kidding me?” Cruz’s anger was actually pretty funny, and I had to stifle the small laugh that wanted to escape. I had too much respect to let it fly. But the shocked look on his face was pretty priceless coming from a tattooed hot-ass. I probably should have told him that sooner, but what can I say … I was born a bitch.
“No, I’m not fucking kidding you. Get the fuck away from her, and put the goddamn gun down.” Moving my head to Pops, I could see he was fuming. Whenever Pops was mad, his forehead turned bright red, and the lines throughout it became more prominent along with the vein that ticked with this heartbeat. It’s a look I always hated growing up, and it used to scare the ever-loving shit out of me.
My eyes flicked back while Cruz took one more look at me. “If you’re still pissed later, we can meet in the ring.” I smiled my damnedest. I could see the smoke threatening to come out of his ears. Confusion laced his eyes, but I wasn’t about to explain right now. I held out my hand to Cruz, “Nice to meet ya. I’m Harlow.” He stared me down as if he was hoping he could make me combust into a million pieces. Sorry Buddy, your super powers won’t work. I’ve been here too long to let that get me.
He tentatively lowered the gun, putting it behind his back, bringing his hand to mine. My hand slipped into his warm, rough, strong grip, a shock raced through my body, beginning at my connected hand and racing all the way through to my feet setting my body on fire. “Cruz.”

Review
(I received this novel from the author in return for an honest review.)

Save Me from Myself was a sweet story about insecure Lyric and one drop dead gorgeous, uber sexy David.

When life becomes unbearable in New York Lyric decides to flee and head south to Nashville.  Having just gotten out of a toxic relationship Lyric is set on not looking for love, but to start her life over.  To do something that makes her happy and to focus on herself.  As any good fiction would have it, all of those good intentions go out the window during her first night in her new hometown with one sexy bartender and strong blue balls.  (*winks* you will have to read the book to find out what the hell I am talking about.)

David is sex on a stick. But the all the confidence and sex appeal he has can not fully heal the loss he has suffered.  He has made a new life for himself, but betrayal is not something he can tolerate.  Meeting Lyric has him feeling things he never thought he would feel again.  But what will happen when misunderstandings are blown out of proportion?  Can David and Lyric navigate the rocky waters that lay ahead?  Find out in Save Me from Myself.

Happy Reading!!

About the Author

I am a 32 year old wife and working mom to 3 boys, ages 15, 13, and 8! After spending the first half of my life in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA, my parents moved my brother and I to another small town outside of Greensboro, NC. I moved to Hickory, NC after marrying my husband. We dated a total of three months before getting married, and we’d known each other for a total of six! People thought we were crazy, but 2014 marks our 10 year anniversary, so it obviously worked out! I’ve always been a huge book lover, even though I hated doing book reports in school! I could never figure out the main idea, but I could quote the book word for word. Back in 2012, I found Fifty Shades, and after staying up all night one Friday to read all three books, I was hooked! I started a book blog, and kept reading everything I could. Then, I found Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines, and couldn’t stop reading. My husband told me that I should write my own book since I was spending so much on Kindle books – by June, I’d read over 500! – and after blowing him off for a few months, I decided to try to write the story I kept seeing in my head. I had an idea for a story about a girl who’d been raised by her brother, but when I started writing, the brother of the main female kept taking over, to the point I was writing things in his POV instead of hers, so I shelved it, and started writing Save Me From Myself instead. I finally told a few fellow book bloggers about my story, and they started encouraging me to finish it, so here we are! It’s been an absolutely insane ride, and I can’t wait to share these characters with everyone!

Review:
(I received this book from the author for an honest review.)

Damn! I love Lauren Blakely.  She has a way of tearing your heart out and making you love every second.  I truly loved Every Second with You.  I may have loved it more than The Thrill of It if that is even possible.  When I left Harley at the end of The Thrill of It I was nervous for her and Trey.  They had just begun to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it one little accident threatens to take it all away.

Every Second of You showed how far Harley and Trey have come and how far they can go together.  It also shows how strong they have grown individually.  It was amazing to witness.  Through it all if that strengthen enough to keep succeed against all odds?  Will old demons come back to haunt them?  Find out for yourself in Every Second of You.

Oh and I have to say I was VERY excited to see Journey's Don't Stop Believing was played in this book.  That has always been my theme song for Harley and Trey!!!

Happy reading!!

Author Bio:

I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd.  Married to for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children.  Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me.  In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader.  However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer.  Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end.  My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right!
By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter.  (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo.  I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)
I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet.  At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book.  Every single time, she caved when I begged for two.  Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books.
Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete.  It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.
Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer.  It’s my life.  If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom!  But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive.
Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series.  I’m nearly finished with the third.  Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well.
This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way.  I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them.  I look forward to connecting with you all!
